Atypical Cyst Decompression
Humeral Head Cyst Decompression
Humeral head cysts are subchondral or intraosseous lesions commonly found in association with chronic rotator cuff tears or osteoarthritis. They can cause deep, localized pain and may weaken the bone structure, increasing the risk of humeral head collapse in severe cases. Diagnosis is usually confirmed with MRI or CT scan. Arthroscopic cyst decompression involves curettage of the lesion, sometimes combined with bone grafting or augmentation to support bone integrity. If the cyst is linked to a rotator cuff tear, simultaneous cuff repair is performed. Surgical outcomes are generally favorable, especially when addressed before significant structural damage occurs.
